Case Study #1
Designing and Building a Kitchen for Dr & Mrs Timney

House visit over coffee:
Plans, thoughts and samples.
This is the umpteenth "get-together" but it is important because Kitchen Door Centre have got to get the detail right.
Before:
Out with the old. Everything changes. The customers want a whole new kitchen so everything must go. One day after this shot, the kitchen was an empty shell with only the cooker and sink left temporarily.
New Ceiling:
The old ceiling is out and the new one is in. The sunken spotlights in brushed chrome (a general theme throughout) are fitted.
Heated Floors:
The customers love these! The whole kitchen is warmed by the electrical elements under the tiling. Beautifully neat, energy efficient. Gorgeous. The electrical work is done by fully qualified engineers.
Plumbing:
Some existing pipework remains but most is replaced. The gas fitters are all Corgi registered.
Tiling:
The oyster slate tiles are going down here on top of the heating elements (which have all checked out). The customers chose their own tiles and we did the rest.

Appliances:
This kitchen called for a new range cooker, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. All were installed by Kitchen Door Centre specialists. Utmost care was taken to make sure that they were fitted beautifully.

Units:
The units started to be installed next. The wood-effect vinyl units are low maintenance and very easy to keep clean.
Worktops:
The customers required Staron worktops - hard-wearing polymeric surfaces without seams. These require expert installation - which is exactly what they got!
Getting Close:
The kitchen is nearly complete here. The last phase s the visit of the decorators. Not one square millimetre of this kitchen was left untouched. It was all replaced.
Extractor Hood:
Finishing touch; the extractor hood was recommended by us. It looks beautiful and works superbly, taking any cooking smells to the outdoors directly.
Job done.

Quote:
"Kitchen Door Centre did a terrific job on our kitchen. The care with which Stewart and his team approached each part of the job was amazing. When it was all finished we waited weeks for the "snags" to start happening. The little irritating things. We are still waiting"
John Timney, Tynemouth.
